Prayer times for Srinagar
These namaz timings are calculated for Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India, at 34.0837° N, 74.7973° E. Srinagar keeps India Standard Time (IST, UTC+5:30; time zone Asia/Kolkata), one clock for the whole country with no daylight saving. Times are worked out on your phone for each date with the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method (Fajr and Isha at 18° below the horizon) and Hanafi Asr, the school followed by most Muslims in India.
Because Srinagar lies 7.7° west of the 82.5° E meridian on which IST is based, the sun crosses the local meridian about 31 minutes later by the clock than it does on that meridian, so Zuhr here averages about 12:31 PM across the year. During 2027, Fajr is earliest around 13 June (3:34 AM) and latest around 4 January (6:08 AM), while Maghrib moves between 5:21 PM in December and 7:46 PM in June. The longest day of fasting, from Fajr to Maghrib, is about 16 h 11 min in June and the shortest about 11 h 23 min in December. Being far north, it sees a wide swing between short winter days and long summer days.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir, is the northernmost city on our list. Its Jamia Masjid in the old city and the Hazratbal shrine on Dal Lake are its best-known places of worship. For jama'at, follow your local masjid's timetable.
